Making something new from something old. Tuesday, March 25, 2014. I recently finished some of my Stitching Projects. I was attending our local Indianapolis EGA Chapter Retreat and have some new finishes. The first picture is our group stitching in the lobby when we first arrived. Wednesday, March 27, 2013. I have been making some new crafts with a sewing theme. Friday, June 22, 2012.
I am going to make a better slip by improving the fit. My first pattern had no method to fit the chest, except an unusual bump on the sides that jutted out from under the armhole. I will use my Swiss cotton batiste again for the cutout. I have another hankie, larger than the last, so I will lay it out with pleats to take up the excess. New hankie has fine embroidery. I will trim the remaining corner for a godot. Now I can finish edges. First I sew down my seam allowances .
Saturday, July 30, 2016. Got out to do a little thrift-ing today. I am a vintage cookbook junkie! Scored this adorable Susan Branch recipe binder. Love the stickers and index cards. This is a cute resin rolling pin wall hanging. And to quench my shabby chic side, I found this pretty silver pitcher, a cute little rose vase and a Laura Ashley canister. Lastly I found this vintage refrigerator meat drawer. Its perfect to hold lunchmeats and cheese in my modern refrigerator.
