The following commentary, written by Penelle Braida Skinner is presented to highlight Scientific Illustration during the renaissance.

This years classes have been challenged more than last year! We have been very busy making clay pots and sculpture. These pots are just a few from the Coil Pot Challenge. Students worked with studio partners to build this pot in 3 days. They had to have a minimum of 4 different coils. Then they were allowed to pick glaze colors. We will let another art teacher critique them and pick the best pot. The winner gets a class celebration.
