Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Grants, in my opinion, are a wonderful thing for teachers and other individuals that work with students to apply for. It is essentially FREE money from the Government to enhance learning opportunities for students in public schools. I have never applied for a grant, but my principal applied for a grant to get SmartBoards. Our third, fourth and fifth grade classrooms were granted EMENTS. The lower elementary classrooms do not have EMENTS.

Each student is a member of a Travel Team on assignment for a Global Travel magazine. With their teammates, they will travel from the West Coast to the East Coast researching selected states and points of interest along the way. Every week each team will be responsible for blogging about their travels, creating a point of interest trading card, and identifying the five themes of geography for each state they visit.
