Last August I heard the phrase, Professor Vernon for the first time. Professor implies the person assuming the title possesses a wealth of knowledge and years of experience in a specific field. The word filled my head with images of individuals I respected, people of wisdom. Thirty years of life and one day on the job had not earned me the respect or the title.
