I cannot begin to tell you how excited I am about this series of posts. As early childhood educators, teaching phonological awareness is so important! Children are stronger readers and spellers when they have a solid foundation of phonological awareness.
So, we are currently working on our Rock On! Unit of inquiry. The students are really excited about this unit, and I am, too! I think the changing of the Earth is incredible and the processes are astounding. volcanoes, earthquakes, weathering and erosion. wow! Here is a picture of the beginning of the process, and a really great Borax crystal a student brought in! Wednesday, August 14.
6th Grade science classroom ideas, materials and freebies! Monday, August 10, 2015. Day and Night Mini Model. Kids LOVE mini models for learning science concepts. They allow EVERY child in the class to physically interact with a concept, not just the teacher! This is such a simple concept, yet SO many kids seem to forget it from year to year. If you are teaching about day and night, time zones, sunrise and sunset this might be a fun addition to your classroom! It just typed.

We got a chance to really think about what it means to be a hero on December 13th, when Matt from The Hero Construction Company came to our class to talk to us. We all took the hero pledge, and are ready to change Oak Ridge! January 13th- Report Cards go home. January 20th- Martin Luther King Jr.
LEARNING! Sunday, March 25, 2018. There are a million faces all over the world,. But none as special or unique. Room 5 is full of smiles, giggles, kindness, and love. I am proud of them and all of their uniqueness. Each kinder is important to me and they will always make my heart smile. Kiss your brain, Room 5! Your teacher loves you!
