They were in the process of closing the factory down. The job lasted around six months. During this time, they were sorting out tools, parts, documents, files, etc. Most of which were thrown away. Well, being a combination historian and pack-rat, I took a lot of it home.

Building a 1957 Chrysler 300C Model Kit

AMT issued this kit, I believe, in a limited run. Anyway, this kit was leftover stock from my hobby shop that I closed in 1999. I retained many model when I closed the store and have been building them over the winter months when the weather is cold and snowy. I decided to begin this kit and this blog is being created as I go. I started the kit on January 31, 2010. As always, AMT kits are molded in white.

Suicides at the Old North Hill Viaduct Bridge

Click Link for my Blog List. Walt Thompson, who owned the Sunoco station at the southern edge of the North Hill Viaduct bridge in Akron, rescued suicidal people in the 1930s and 1940s. The gas station stood at North Main and Furnace Streets on the edge of downtown. The gas station sign can be seen at the right side of this picture. Have you ever thought about suicide? .

My Scale Model 1967 Plymouth Fury Police Cruiser

And most of the cars and trucks that I have built, I still have. The kit was an early Lindberg kit. It came complete with all of the police equipment. Plus, the car was a 4-door model, rare for that time as most car kits were 2-doors. This kit has been out of production for many years.
