Vapakoskelta Kunettikoskelle on tylsä väli meloa. Poislukien Unariköngäs siinä on vain pitkiä suvantoja. Varsinkin vastatuulella lähtee järki meloa niitä kumipaatilla. Paras lähtöpaikka taitaa sitten olla Mikkelilampi. Seuraavana päivänä jatkoin Kunettikoskelta alaspäin ja nyt oli jokikin mukavampi meloa. Vettä oli koskissa yllättävän paljon, ainakin verrattuna viime syksyyn. Tai sitten taidot olivat vain karttuneet.
