We arrived in Long Beach yesterday to visit our son, Mike, and his wife, Carrie. Their apartment is near the Convention Center and the waterfront. This afternoon, Helen and I walked over to check out the Pacific Ocean. I had to keep reminding myself as I looked at the ocean that I was looking south. The coast right here is running east to west. Seeing all the preparation for the race was interesting. I was most impressed by the large number.
