Studying the Genome, the Brain, and Behavior. My work uses ideas from evolution to understand how the genome shapes brains and behavior. I couple state-of-the-art techniques in sequencing and neuroanatomy with computation to find conserved gene systems and their molecular transducers in the brain that are responsible for behaviors such as voluntary physical activity and responses to social stimuli.
