Op zoek naar inspiratie voor de Adelbertusviering van 26 juni a. liep ik met mijn vriendin Marjan op zondag 1 mei het Monnikenpad dat start bij de Abdij van Egmond. Wij reden om 10 uur weg, terug naar het gebied waar ik opgroeide in mijn puberjaren en dus destijds geheel niet. Na afloop hebben wij geproost met heerlijk Adelbertusbier bij de uitspanning naast de Adelbertusakker. Nog een klein stukje langs de Adelbertusweg en dan zijn we weer terug bij de Abdi.
