5,000 Miles and One Left Turn. This blog was originally written to document our first long bike trip from Portland, Oregon to St Augustine, Florida. We are going to continue using this Blog as a journal to document our future bicycling adventures. Sunday, July 4, 2010. Knowing that I had to get on the road soon, I woke up Evan who drove me off the dirt road and onto Highway 441. We said our goodbyes under the neon lights of the Kangaroo and parted ways from our journey though I doubt he remembers it, he was half asleep.

Who Is The Meandering Matriarch? Posted by The Meandering Matriarch. Well, once again I am hoist with my own petard. Or, put another way, I am foiled by my own plan. This is one of those times. News from the McArthur family as they caravan their way around Australia. Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Day 70 Broken Hill to Mutawintji National Park. Before leaving Broken Hill today we visited the Royal Flying Doctors Service. It was fascinating to learn about the history of this service and the clever visionaries that developed it. We never fully comprehended the special role it plays until today.
