As you practice mindfulness, you learn to gather up your inner resources in order to manage pain, illness and stress. This special form of attentiveness enables you to find new insights into life situations and, in turn, develop richer and more skillful responses to these events.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction is an approach to self-care that will help one to deal with stress, pain and illness. The techniques that are taught help people learn to focus. This course is modeled on the program developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.
