The flora and fauna of Bedfordshire and a little further afield. Monday, 19 January 2015. It was Great Duck Hunt day in Bedfordshire so everyone was out counting wildfowl at the local waterways. This is done to try to get an overall view of the number of wildfowl in Bedfordshire. It is deliberately run alongside the WeBS weekend so that many of the sites are already counted. Here are the morning counts for WeBS. Pair with 5 cygnets and 3 other adults.
Sunday, 16 November 2014. Quality was the order of the day and it took some patience. At Sandy Smith Nature Reserve, 6 birds were ringed between dawn and 2pm when the rain came.
We operate at sites across Bedfordshire, some associated with the river Great Ouse, but concentrating on the CES sites as well as catching Mute Swans. Monday, 19 March 2018.
