Onwards along the northern coast of Spain, they call it the green coast and rightly so. It is a quiet coast with very few marinas as we know them,just small fishing harbours. We had to invent some imaginative methods of mooring. Most boats choose to cross the Bay of Biscay rather than sail inside it. Rounding Cape St Vincent on a rather blustery day we found a lovely marina in Lagos. Our first winter abroad was a busy one we had 4 lots of visitors.

Winter has changed to spring; we have given up our jobs, said goodbye to all our friends. We have a new crew member for two weeks. We have decided to put the circumnavigation on hold for another season. Since we are on this side of Britain we are going across the North Sea to spend this season in the Baltic Sea. New crew member on board. On the southern tip of Norway.

As we continue along the eastern Algarve of Portugal we enter the Guardiana River, the natural boundary between Portugal and Spain. We spent a week here just walking and exploring this wonderful area, it was quiet and the wild plants were blooming. Upon leaving the river we entered southern Spain.
