Since my first visit to Burma in 2006, I have seen many amazing works from many amazing photographers. In those photoessays, monks smiled; pagodas shined. But for me, it is just not the Burma I remembered. Burma I remembered was much more than carefree monks, lush trees and golden temples. It is more hectic, more weathered, more neurotic.
