Monday, 4 June 2012. The Second Year is Difficult . Last year went smoothly, with the bees producing about 26lb honey. We gave most of it away, though! This year has been chaotic. Firstly the bees got through the winter well and the early spring got them producing honey and new brood very rapidly. We found queen cells and so did and artificial swarm according to the book.
