This blog will likely see more commentary on international development work in the future, but I felt this closure was necessary for the end of the Duke Engage trip and my experiences in Kakamega, Kenya.
So I am not sure if anyone is still keeping up, but I am back it is really nice. 9 weeks gone, three days of traveling left.

Tuesday, November 16, 2010. I always knew the Fillmore was small, but I never realized it was shrinking. When I first started reporting and exploring the Fillmore I had a very narrow view of what the area had to offer. In the beginning the only words I associated with the Fillmore were jazz, crime and the 22 Muni line. When I first started exploring the Fillmore, I had no sense of the community. I knew nothing of the population, demographics or if there even was a cohesive commun.
Wednesday, June 30, 2010. Was it a fluke? When I was looking at cats to adopt last year, I knew that Sonny. Would be the guy for me. On his fact sheet he was listed as being good with dogs and cats so combined with his mellow temperament, I knew he was the boy for me. In May, I start volunteering for our local library while they were doing a conversion to RFID.

Sunday, March 29, 2009. The last month has been full of travels, adventures, school, and just lots of life. one weekend we went to a vineyard south of Santiago called Santa Cruz. The next weekend we took another day-trip to Isla Negra.
