Although away from the island, I do keep an eye on what goes on there. Two things jumped out at me in recent weeks. First, a visitor centre related to the Iolaire Disaster is to be built in Stornoway. I have frequently highlighted this tragedy. Next New Year, 2019, it will be exactly a century ago the sinking of the HMY Iolaire.

In May, it was 8 years since you left us. Missing you still, but relieved you were spared further suffering. I know Dad did a fantastic job all those years, but the time was nearly there that he could do no more. I have to carry on, you would not like me to dwell on the past. Wednesday, 30 January 2013.

As AOL is axing its blogging service, I have decided to cease making entries on this journal from now. It will be transferred to an archive on Blogger as soon as the mechanism for doing so becomes available. Is hosted on Blogger and has been in use for a few days now.
