Life On The Outside. Thursday, May 31, 2012. I was released from prison in April, 2011. It was my first month of freedom since December, 1987. I spent 25 years in the Indiana Department of Corrections. Every day I served, I deserved. Truly, I was blessed that I wasnt sentenced to more years. Ultimately, I hurt a lot of people. That is what led me to prison. All of the choices I made as an 18 year old led me to some of the darkest places in the Indiana Department of Corrections. This isnt Shawshank Rede.
