Life according to a southern girl thrown into the big city life. Another year has come and gone! I was delighted to celebrate with people I genuinely care about. Starting off with a wonderful weekend in Williamsburg with mom and dad, I arrived back at work to a cheerfully decorated office and an inbox stocked with birthday cards.

Wednesday, February 17, 2010. Another chapter of my life ends and a new one begins. One stands at a sprawling path laid ahead. I will change again, but only superficially. I have been the same and I am motivated by the same ideals all these years. People say, that time will change people. I have not and I will not. Conviction was questioned by conscience. This is the first year I hated the holiday party. The biggest ballroom in the city, prime-rib dinner, flown-in entertainment, great door prizes. I was always the host, but this year it felt like an obligation, not a pleasure. I was performing, not participating. It was part of my job.
