The aim of this course is to provide students comprehensive introduction to the main concepts of international law. The course deals with mainly nature and sources of international law, law of treaties, personality, statehood, recognition, jurisdiction, immunities from jurisdiction and sovereignty. Moreover, major contemporary developments in international relations will be dealt in terms of international law.
The second term international law course provides students application of theories of international law. The course deals with the law of the sea, peaceful settlement of disputes, use of force, human rights, international criminal law and international environmental law. Contemporary developments in international law and international politics will be covered in terms of the rules of international law.
