Remembrance is a film about revenge and betrayal. The protagonist has returned from a tour of duty in Iraq after being betrayed and left for dead by members of his Battalion in the scorching Iraqi desert. Upon returning home he begins to kill his squadmates off, one by one. We join the storyline after he has claimed 4 victims and it is shown he is about to kill again. Monday, February 2, 2009. It is the end of an amazing project and sadly also to this blog.

This opening sequence relies hugely on flash backs as it helps to emphasize feelings and state of mind that the character is in. This coupled with the lighting and smallness of the room gives the impression that he is trapped both physically and mentally. Also the camera uses a lot of extreme close ups on him and therefore makes the change of his state of mind all the more intense.
