I learned about minority languages in last week. Most people think English have been used in UK but other language has been. Because English people conquered and annexed Wales, English was spoken by Welsh. The history makes me sad. Thus many people tried to revive Welsh. Then Welsh is used as official language. Westminister is a day school in the center.

Tuesday, January 12, 2010. A lot of things, which we learned this semester, were very interesting for me. Britain is a historical country, so I had plenty of things that I had to remember. Although there were many things I needed to learn, I enjoyed getting new information about Britain. Tuesday, January 5, 2010. There are about 5,000 to 7,000 languages in the world, and many of them are minority language. Welsh is one of the minority languages which is spoken in Wales.

Tuesday, October 27, 2009. The Upper Class consists of royal family. Such people get top high paying jobs like lawyers, doctors, etc. They send their children to expensive schools. And they enjoy expensive hobbies such as polo.

First, I want to write about Welsh. According to The Welsh Language Board. More and more people speak Welsh recently because of the education and TV programs. Elementary and Junior high schools in Wales started to teach Welsh again, and some TV programs like BBC Wales. Which use Welsh started to be broadcasted. In this class we often write a blog about UK. Such as schools, languages, social class system and etc. I learned many things from this class. What I learned first is to make blog better. In fact, when I read those blogs I feel tired. However if I read blogs with images I feel easier to read.

Tuesday, January 12, 2010. My reflection on my writing and this class. Monday, December 14, 2009. Minority languages of the UK. Especially the UK, to you. People in UK use English, Welsh, and Scots Gaelic now. Of course, there are some languages disappeared, for example, Manx and Cornish. Manx was spoken in Isle of Man. And Cornish was spoken in Cornwall. Teachers could not teach in Welsh by the Education Act. This is not official, but many English people have taken this test. I hope that Welsh becom.

Reflection on the class about UK. I wrote about only the name of Britain, class system, and area of UK. But I also think this blog entry made a good connection to next blog, Class Division. I think the last entry about Minority Languages, is better than the other my blog entries.

I learned the UK in my seminar. I am very happy that I could get more information about the UK, because I am interested in the UK history and culture a lot. Especially I became interested in social class system. When I went to England, I actually realized class system. The UK has a long history and independent culture. There again in the future.
