Julie in Kenya

Friday, November 30, 2007. Last post from Kenya. Our final safari to mara was well worth the wait! The scenery was beautiful and we got to see tons of animals. Our first game drive on Wednesday evening was very exciting. We were driving along and we see all these combis heading towards one direction. Usually that means there is something worth taking a picture of. So we followed the rest and came apon this A lion chowing down on a buffalo! We came back an hour later to check it out and this was left.

Ken-ya feel the love?

Ken-ya feel the love? I am an African. Not because I was born there. Not because my skin is black. But because my mind is engaged by Africa. Not because I live on its soil. But because my soul is at home in Africa. When Africa weeps for her children. My cheeks are stained with tears. When Africa honours her elders.

Kenya Field Of Dreams Bringing the World Cup to Kilifi

Bringing the World Cup to Kilifi. Thank you and Asante Sana. The World Cup has been well and truly won. The trophy did not have to travel far in the end, all it had to do really was hop over the Med from Rome to Madrid. But the greatest sporting spectacle brought the whole world to Africa. South Africa has put on quite a show and with it demonstrated that Africa has well and truly arrived.
