Saturday, 11 July 2015. It was with very heavy hearts that Mark Walsh and I conducted an Exit Interview with Mrs Card who leaves us at the end of this term. When a member of the teaching staff leaves, we give them an Exit Interview, as it is very helpful to the Directors to find out why they are leaving and what they felt we are doing well as a school and if there are areas they feel need improvement. We wish her well and she will no doubt have a wonderful retirement.
Wednesday, 22 July 2015. Year 6 enrichment group Jesus College visit. On Monday 6th July we made our annual visit to Jesus College, Cambridge with a group of year 6 children. The visit is to inspire the children and to show them that they are capable of taking a path in life at the top university. On Monday 13th July 2015 we held a School Council school improvement conference with Long Ridings Primary, Brentwood. I am so proud of all of the Councillors and the adult leader.
Tuesday, 7 July 2015. Today we hosted our annual sports day event. The children had a range of sporting activities to complete with the infants having their go in the morning and the juniors competing after lunch. I thought all of the children competed extremely well with a smile on their face. The KS1 winners were Scott and the KS2 winners were Wellington.
Wednesday, 1 July 2015. As part of our Bobbing Along topic, this week we have been pond dipping to find out what creatures live in the pond in the Eco Garden at school. We have found out facts about frogs and read stories about them too; learning about the differences about fiction and non fiction texts. We have been learning about the Life Cycle of a frog so we decided to go and investigate! We also found some beautiful water lilies in the pond. When we played board game.
