On the first weekend of December, we took the ferry to cross the Cook Straight that separates North and South Island. We went to the Marlborough Sounds. The resort we stayed at was empty except for us. Thus we had a private beach. And a boat to ourselves. The ducks were not shy. A morning walk on the Queen Charlotte track. Adele seemed happy enough. The three of us at the top. Along the way, a bird colony. And a seal colony.
