Room 5 is currently learning about Pacifica. I am going to talk to you about some of the things we have learnt so far. we have learnt about the ocean groups such as Polynesia, Micronesia and Melanesia. Polynesia contains islands such as Tonga, Samoa, The Cook Islands and French Polynesia. Easter Island and the Chatham. Islands too, and much much more. Melanesia contains Fiji, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, Papua. It may not seem interesting but really.
Over the last 4 days we had a long holiday, On Friday we had teachers only day, On Saturday and Sunday was normal weekends but Monday was Queens Birthday holiday for New Zealand. For teachers only day I had to come to school because Mum has to go to work, my mum is a nurse and she is some times very busy. Well back to teachers only day story I had to watch movies and got to play on Gimp, Gimp is a logo and button maker for web sites.
Last Tern Discovery Academy went to Tunohopu Marae for a trip for 3 days and 2 nights. Before room4 went to Tunohopu they went to the museum and Watched movies and heard lots of story . then we walked to tunohopu well another class walked to the museum. At the beginning of term 2 one of our computer teachers started our class on web challenges. Then we got split up into groups. After that we got to choose what research we wanted to do. After school or on the weekend I like to hang o.
Me Jesse and my uncle went to watch my other cousin play. Jimmy, JJ, Alistair, pinto, Joe, Eru, Cruz, Jesse, Even, Western, Zack,Coal, TuTe, dillous, wade, talouer, seth, and much much more. At school i am in discovery academy. my teacher is miss goldsworthy.
During the holidays I went to Gisbourne. I went to my cousins house. there names are Tyrell,Taonga,David and Jordan. When we got there we went to the pools. after that we went home and had a feed of meat and veges. About Me Myself and Eye. Hi my name is Jimmy and I am 13 years old. I live in Rotorua and go to Kaitao Middle School. I have 1 brother and 1 sister and Ive got two dogs. There names are T bag and Mangu.

Our pages are our cover page, language and other Chinese things. Where learning a lot about it to. We also found heaps of information on how Chinese culture affects us. We got them in Tauranga. Because our soccer game that was being held. On Tuesday 28th March I went to the Convention Centre with the Stage Challenge group. It was for Stage Challenge 09. In Stage Challenge you had to have a theme, our theme was on values and making new friends. Then every school had three turns each to practice.
At night we had dinner it was nice then after dinner we had free time. When free time was over we played some activities till we were going to bed. Then we got ready to go bed and the lights were off. While we were in our beds there was heaps of noise but I went to asleep before the noise went louder. My trip to the museum. On the 3rd of March we went on a marae stay, Discovery went on a waka experience at the lake front, when we got there we had to split into two groups. Each waka holds 22 people on 1 waka. Before we could hop in the waka we had to put on a life jacket and get a paddle and learn paddle moves and when we completed we got to go on the waka. Today is Wednesday 3rd June and Room 1 just had a Tennis Lesson. We got some good pictures. Finally the speech competition is around the corner! Its sure going to be a hard working 4 weeks for the students here. Last year Room 1 did extremely well in the speech competition. Our year 8s, we had Tayla F. Come in 2nd, and Sophia come an equal 3rd. Our year 7s, Rochelle won, and we had Caitlin come 3rd. We are proud of them and we hope to do so well if not better again this year! It was.
Room 14 is now training for sports camp , that will be held at Totara Springs in Term3 of 2009. To be in this team and go compete against other people , you need to be fit , Know your sports and also have a good attitude. Last year was an awesome one , we won 7 trophies and overall sports team. Which also took allot of training and commitment . It was a great time down at Sports Camp. We had practiced almost every day , well almost. Well then we went to .
