This is a blog that I hope will not be filled with sub-par writing and work. Wednesday, May 23, 2007. No windows or walls either. The floor is littered with holes, looking as if they were designed perfectly to swallow a person to the cave-like basement below. A Harvest-Gold refrigerator is the only appliance left in the barren kitchen. Down the road at 613 Davis Street, the lawn extension is littered with ratty furniture and other assorted garbage.
Saturday, May 26, 2007. Elite Colleges Open New Door to Low-Income Youths. This is very compelling story about a fellow senior about to graduate from Amherst College. I picked this article because it seems to tackle the bigger issue of low-income kids getting into elite colleges. The issue of affirmative action has been a very hot topic in Michigan for the past couple of years, so I thought that this article would be somewhat relevant to our class. Wednesday, May 23, 2007.
Sunday, July 19, 2009. So the other day when Pat and Katie brought home the lawn furniture, Pat had to kill some spiders- a black widow in particular. Called and woke up Mom- at midnight her time- while she was on vacation. Freaked her out since she had no idea what it was either, and successfully ruined her night of sleep and relaxation. Wednesday, May 23, 2007. The beach is alive with people, doing everything from football to frisbee. Groups of friends cluster near the water, taking in the sun or relaxing and having a drink. In the past, day of gracious living was almost a huge campus wide party at the beach. Some restrictions have been put in place so that the faculty can be more prepared at having to cance.
