Saturday, August 13, 2011. I then went home and did the last of my packing up. Oksana, Ludmilla Sergeevna, Ludmilla Iosifovna, and Me! I left the next day to go into to Kokshetau to stay the night before getting a taxi to Astana. Ludmilla, her husband and daughter came to pick up me and my luggage. I had a tearful goodbye with my Babushka, who told me I was like the daughter she never had. A taxi was at the offic.

With the back of my glove I scrape an opening into the frosty window beside me. As I peak through the fresh hole in the glass my eyes come into focus. I see a very familiar winter wonderland.
