In November 2004, Jo and I found out that we were going to have a baby! At the same time, Jo was diagnosed with Aplastic Anemia - a medical term that means her bone marrow was failing; it was no longer doing its job of producing white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets. On June 17th, 2005, Jo gave birth to a beautiful baby girl - Anna Claire Szymanski. Jo is downtown this weekend .
Welcome to the official Jo Thompson website. As most of you know, three years ago, I decided to quit traveling the world and concentrate on having a family. On June 17, 2005 my husband, Tim Szymanski, and I had a beautiful, healthy baby girl, Anna Claire Szymanski. Being a mom is more amazing than I ever imagined! My wonderful husband, Tim, is documenting the story of my pregnancy, my complication with Aplastic Anemia, and now my journey to recovery.
