Quiet day at the office yesterday, so I wandered up to the mezzanine floor to check out the Cecily Brown exhibition but got no further than the South Asian Modernists 1953-1963. Wonderful oil paintings collected by Victor Musgrave for his experimental Gallery One, open for ten years in London. From before he met Monika Kinley in 1977 and before the start of their Outsider Art Collection which is now part of the Whitworth collections.

Joan Atkinson was born and raised in California and earned her B. in English at the University of Oregon. After college, she worked for a vegetable cannery, a book store, an oil company, and an airport runway joint sealant company before leaving those exciting jobs to become a legal assistant.
