We stayed with families in their home, enjoying being part of everyday life; we watched. Them making butter, tending the animals, gardening as they prepared for the nine month winter ahead. Ing Ladakh, its warm people and culture, we headed do. Cold but happy faced the long haul down to base, aching le. Gs as the descent was much harder.
