Ribbonwood Retreat, Westland National Park. Julie and Jonathan call their Bed and Breakfast. Ribbonwood Retreat after the beautiful big ribbonwood tree that grows near their home. Once common these trees are now in decline. We have planted Ribbonwoods and many other trees to attract native birds back to our garden. 2013 travels to SE Asia. Sunday, May 24, 2015.
The reclining buddy, a common theme during our travel! Pad thai in banana leaf. Tissa, Mirissa and Galle; the deep South. Tissamaharama was a good place to launch into the south east, half a days bus ride from Aragam Bay. Less touristy and rural with rice fields, coconut and sugar cane farming, also fishing on stilts! Back to the beach and on safari again. Break from the sun, back to the hill country. The Kandy to Ella trip on the railway touted to be a scenic.
Sunday, May 30, 2010. When I left Jordan I said I would never be back to the Middle East. Never say never! Being able to take to the water in Dahab again. what can I say - it must be a dream.
