Just like a real music magazine I used an image of one person for my central image, and I used a direct mode of address by using an image of my model staring right at the camera, I knew this was an important feature of the magazine as most people in my research said that the front cover of a magazine persuades them to buy one.
Earlier this week as the Bass interview team were deciding on a well known up and coming artist from East London to interview in the first issue of Bass. Early last Monday we contacted the artist known as Snatch. We arranged to meet up at his brand new studio in his central London apartment where we spent the day. I have also picked a low price for my magazine which is presented clearly on the front cover, as my target audience are not from the richer rungs of society. After I merged all the layers into one background, I then started to adjust the brightness settings, the hue and contrast and I managed to add the effects that I wanted without making it difficult to see. I then found out that the background had been cropped off, so using the pen tool, I selected the section of the image I needed, and inserted onto the picture.
