Tuesday, December 16, 2008. This is the third and final print of the series. I decided to emphasize different colors in this one, as well as make the overall image a bit softer. Our collaborative project will be a cut out of a dancing figure. the figure will have elements of robotics throughout its body. i will be working on one of the legs, styled in a pattern design with the robotics showing through. As the project progressed, an underlying theme developed. Wednesday, December 3, 2008. Stuck in the middle of a print series. Monday, December 15, 2008. Creating the first print was the most difficult task for the fact that I was taking the words too literally. Once I got past seeing each word as just a noun or an adjective, I was able to associate colors, moods, textures and places with each item. Applying various hand-made collages to Photoshop, I combined many aspects of at least 10 collages into the three large prints.
Thursday, December 11, 2008. My prints are all of temporary dwellings, which is a subject I have been painting throughout college. Instead of using all of the words in the first print, I decided to divide them because I liked them so much that I wanted to do each justice. My first print depicts a tree house. Tuesday, December 16, 2008. The second image has a similar red and white pattern in the bottom corner to transition from the first print. It uses more yellow and brown coloring to enhance the candlelight. The girl also has a similar drawn design but transitions to black and white. I attempted to have patterns similar to the previous images but unique to the print. I manipulated the images in Photoshop removing and replacing objects that would reveal a modern setting.

I also hope to incorporate my background in the craft world into my work as a fine artist as I feel there are certain aesthetics in the design of that field; I want to meld the two worlds together.
