What is Collegiate Shag? Collegiate Shag is a partner dance that originated in the 1930ï s and has a history similar to other jazz and swing era dances, such as the Charleston, Lindy Hop, and Balboa. I have a tendency to get annoyed when men instead on holding the door open for me even when it is obviously easier for me to hold it for them.
