Saturday, 8 November 2008. We pack up, drive back over the mountains to San Jose, and slide by degrees back into the ordinary. The plane is supposed to fly out at 1345 h local, but the sense of dislocation is already starting. In several hours, we will look at Houston and then Detroit, and wonder why anyone would want to live that way. See you all soon. Friday, 7 November 2008. A quick glance at my watch says its the 7th.
