I came across his work in a book called Data Flow and thought it was really quirky and inspirational and wanted to check out more of his work, not just that featured in the book. A cipher is transmuted to an alphabet. The outline of a font is traced using wool. The lengths of wool are then displayed as a new alphabet, creating a typographic, machine readable code based on distances and proportions. so simple, yet so complicated.

MECH Summer School 2008. Here is some recent work the ceramicist Petra Bittl. It is a small exhibition in Leeds College of Art. The brief was have an image of her work with the text. I decided to zoom in on the work and dull it slightly so it appeared more textured and rough to mimic the pottery. This was aided by the matt print process. New years in New York City. Had 3 days in New York, free of museums except the MoMa which featured the 50 years of Helvetica. Definately a highlight of the trip. Somethi.CONTENT
