My first hour or so out of the house was an opportunity for my 6 year old daughter to stretch her legs in a local playground a few hundred yards from our base in Lake City. Next up overhead the dark form of a turkey vulture gliding around, closely followed by several more and a black vulture in tow. In one of the trees at the playground another mo.

Thailand - the middle bit. Spoonies, waders and Kaeng Krachan. This is part two of my blog about our trip to Thailand. Day 9 - Spoonies and other waders. Day nine was our day out with Peter Ericsson. Peter collected us before dawn from our hotel in Samut Sakhon.

These shots were taken from a fare distance,lets hope we get closer views in the future. a visit to the coast next to cresswell got use to see at least 200 common scoter,8 Red-throated divers. Newbigin Showed us 5 red-throated divers and three med-gulls. Love to see geese flying into land on the lake. Nice to get close to the wigeon.

Well I think I am going to give this blog writing another bash. A record of my enjoyment of the area and natural history around Alnwick District. Tuesday, 11 August 2015. I picked out the Caspian Gull roosting with Herring and Great Black Baked Gulls on the last exposed sand as the tide rushed into the estuary. The rising tide kept the flock moving, birds settling then standing up and walking further up the shore. Good to compare the Caspian Gull with good numbers of adult Herring Gulls. Sunday the 9th August was a good morning, 4 Yellow W.
