But they did themselves proud on an evening so lovely that on the return home we dawdled to make the most of the beautiful sunset and mercurial water. Penzance - There and Back Row. On 26th August 2008 The Czar and Menavaur mens crews, of Tresco and Bryher Gig Rowing Club, rowed from Tresco to Penzance, then the Czar crew rowed back again the next day. Below is an archive of photos and commentary on their adventure. How to row a long way! But the idea certainly had support from the start. Coming to Hanjague, the most Easterly of the islands rocks, brought us some relief as now we were in the protection of the islands and water was calmer.
