A sidelined runner recovering from surgery and entering the world of cycling. Earlier in the week I was cleared to ride my bike and this morning I finally seized the opportunity and went out for my first post surgery ride. Just four and a half weeks ago I had arthroscopic surgery, notchplasty, and a hardware removal procedure preformed on my right knee and this morning I was riding my bike on the streets.
Same crowd, different bar. Today, I had one of those bizarre epiphanies. The kind that leads you to a totally obvious conclusion. Around the neighborhood in the sweltering heat I tooled. I probably ran three miles and change.
I wrote this 2 weeks ago. It had been 5 years since I ran this race and was eager to get back. I flew into SF on Saturday and went straight from the airport to The Westin to pick up my bib. Packet pick up was a breeze! At mile 9.
It seems I kicked off my spring right, with completing my very first Half Marathon in Oakland. June 3rd 4th Annual Hook and Ladder 10k at Wente Vineyards in Livermore, CA. July 29th San Francisco Half Marathon, San Francisco, CA.

Well, sort of. 5 min walking alternating with 1. 5 min run for 2 miles. This week is 1 mile, 3 times this week.
