Monday, October 11, 2010. Empowering Youth to Lead a Country. Youth empowerment is an integral part of everything at the YMCA in Liberia, West Africa. By providing young people with a myriad of opportunities to learn and practice leadership skills, they are preparing the next generation to meaningfully contribute to the rebuilding of their war-ravaged country. During our visit, we witnessed firsthand the active engagement of youth at all levels and in all activities of the YMCA.
