Tarinoita muinaisesta ja nykyisestä elämästä. Maanantai 23. marraskuuta 2009. Viimeviikolla sain Saksasta paketin, joka sisälsi italialaisen mioseenikautisen Clypeaster portentosus. Lajin merisiilin, joka oli 15 cm korkea. Fossiili oli tukevasti sivukivessä kiinni, joten päätin preparoida fossiilia hieman. Poistin ensin sivukiveä tasaisesti, jonka jälkeen siirryin sektorimaiseen preparointiin. Viimeisestä sektorista paljastui toisen Clypeasterin kuoren kappaleita, jotka irroitin kokonaisena laattana.
