The highs and lows of adopting a little girl from Ethiopia. Today it was a Dee Dee scarf kind of day.
In 1998 I was an active young woman looking forward to all the possibilities life had to offer. The car crash resulted in a battle for my life that would involve two weeks in a coma, seven months in the BCPFF Burn and Plastic Surgery Unit at Vancouver General Hospital and an additional five months in rehabilitation. This photo was taken in Ethiopia at our guest house on the day we got custody of our daughter, Azeb, on June 24, 2012. We arrived home on June 29th, 2012. Sunday, July 22, 2012. Monday, June 4, 2012. So, to update those people. we are picking up our daughter. SOON! Monday, June 04, 2012.
Sunday, June 5, 2011. Oh boy has this journey ever been an eye opening, humbling, challenging time for me. But for me sometimes 2 feels like 10. That is so sad for me to write. I really adore my boy. To hurt me or his sister.
We were married on May 7, 2005 and since then we have shared our adventures in Langley, Seoul, Thailand, Japan and now in Vancouver. Our first baby is due in March 2010. just after Vancouver hosts the 2010 Olympics. Wednesday, August 10, 2011. Visiting the Milligens in their new home in Maple Bay. First solo road trip for me. Saturday, November 24, 2012. 3 years 8 Months 2 weeks and 4 days of waiting! I am a bit late on posting this but. I received a referral last week for a beautiful two year old girl. I always enjoy reading peoples referral story but I have to say mine is not so glamorous. I received the call as I was laying on my couch with the flu! Not exactly how I had imagined it but made my day regardless! Now I await a court date! So that I can meet my beautiful little girl! Well I suppose it w.
