After two nights in Cusco, we hopped on the train for a gorgeous, three-and-a-half-hour ride to Aguas Calientes, the tiny town at the base of the mountains where Machu Picchu is perched. Luckily we bought tickets for the second group, and by the time we were heading up Wayna Picchu, the fog had cleared and the sun was shining. The way down was the hardest.
