About 6 hours later we landed in Shannon Airport, Ireland to refuel and got a few hours to stretch out legs. It was much more comfortable than the old East German airport I flew in and out of on leave. We boarded the plane for the long trip across the ocean back to the states, and I do mean long! Bummer, or not.
