In early January 2008 I participated in a medical mission trip delivering dental care in two small villages of southern Honduras. Being the only dentist in the group, I was very busy treating patients who traveled hours by foot to alleviate their dental pain. With the invaluable help of my assistant, 141 patients were treated and 204 teeth were extracted during the 6 days of clinic. I hope to share stories and personal experiences of my trip as it was truly an adventure.CONTENT

Thirteen UCLA Dental Students and three Dentists are traveling to Guiamaca, Honduras. We will be at the mission from September 1-9 treating as many patients as we can and will update the blog with pictures and stories from each day at the clinic and in the city. Friday, December 23, 2011. We are back home in LA after an eventful and memorable 2 weeks in Honduras. The group had a great time interacting with patients and providing dental care and OHI to the people of Honduras. It was an invaluable experience to witness a different culture and gain an understanding and appreciation of their customs.
