Edwin H Land was an American inventor famous for developing the technique of Polaroid photography. He was born in Bridgeport, Conneticut on May 7, 1909. He attended Harvard University to study chemistry but left after his freshman year after he became interested in polarized light. In addition to his applications with cameras, Land also appli.

Histories of science were originally written by practicing and retired scientists, starting primarily with William Whewell, as a way to communicate the virtues of science to the public.
