Wednesday, April 27, 2011. I got back to my house in Yakima really early on a Thursday morning. The next day I drove down to Walla Walla to see friends. I walked into the place where I used to work, and immediately got offered a job. Just like that - without even trying! I like that I lived in Nepal for 8 m.
Huh, how do I even begin this? It would be an understatement to say that the past week was turbulent. It was frightening, surreal and shaky. It was full of insecurity and sadness for all who lost everything. It was also full of relief, gratitude and community connection. It was a truly life-changing week. Nepali roads, mountains, elephants and mice. Pokhara is a fun place if you like to party and hang out in bars and restauran.
Tales from a sojourn in a strange land. Colder than I could have imagined. This past week was in the 40s until Friday when it took the plunge to 15 F. That was not even counting the wind chill. Saturday was in the teens and there were flurries today.
