Opinions, whether you want them or not. Tuesday, April 15, 2008. I first read this novel several months ago, over the winter break. It is very compelling, a great story of redemption and the harsh reality of Afghanistan politically and socially. Some parts are a bit graphic, but thats all in the storytelling I suppose. After re-reading parts of the book as a refresher for class, I did some secondary source research for criticism of the Kite Runner. Monday, April 14, 2008.

Monday, April 14, 2008. I think one of the toughest sections of this book for me was the description of the orphange after Amir comes back to Iraq.
