Her is the preliminary version of my character profile, mainly just to hit the deadline. I think this is the essence of a photo story. I begin by photographing what someone. Then that gets stripped away in the edit. Eventually, and hopefully, I photograph who a person.
Sunday, May 1, 2011. Jane Pounds takes in a deep breath before getting ready for the day on April 16, 2011. At 81, Pounds says that by not jumping up out of bed right when she wakes up, it allows her to mentally and physically prepare for the day. The two had not seen each other for some time, and spent a few minutes catching up.
I have a new blog at katiewoodphotography. Monday night, I drove around half testing my questionable camera and half enjoying the warm spring evening. On one road I encountered this dog who kind of freaked me out. His fur was white, so I almost could not see him on the gravel road. I could not resist snapping a picture of him.

In my work I travel all over N. I meet a lot of really great people. Nobody wants to see pictures of really great people, they do however love to see the furry friends of these really great people so here are some jobsite critters that I enjoyed getting to know. This big beautiful Alaskan Husky greeted me when I pulled in the driveway. He looks like he means business and he does.

Friday, April 8, 2011. I have setup and appointment with the Bat biologist from Missouri, Bill Elliot so that I can meet with him and learn more about white nose syndrome. I also hope to learn if he is currently tracking some bats and maybe I can follow him and get a picture of one of these bats. I am also waiting for Roxy from the Rock Bridge Cave to send out an email letting me know when the Department of Natural Resources will say if it is ok to have wild cave tours in Rock Bridge.
